Absolutely not! The MemoryWorks consultant opportunity was specifically designed for scrapbookers who are interested in a simplified, flexible direct sales opportunity that offers a chance to earn as much or as little as you would like. So, whether you are interested in running your own profitable scrapbook business or simply want to take advantage of the 20% discount on your personal scrapbook supplies – MemoryWorks helps you achieve your goals!

Is MemoryWorks a multi-level market (MLM) company?

No. MemoryWorks is a single-level business unit and is not comprised of a complicated multi-level structure. There is no up-line to report to, nor a down-line to baby sit. MemoryWorks consultants do not receive override commissions or commission checks. The MemoryWorks approach simply allows consultants to share their passion for scrapbooking, generate extra income for themselves or their families and receive a substantial discount on great name-brand products!

What name-brand products does MemoryWorks offer?

Our company’s product line includes cropping tools, punches, cutouts, paper-piecing, adhesives, preservation accessories, stickers and more. MemoryWorks also offers customers a broad selection of cardstock assortments, patterned paper sets and albums in both 8 1/2 x 11 and 12 x 12 sizes to cater to every scrapbooker. In addition, MemoryWorks features a variety of custom-packaged themed scrapbook sets exclusive to our company, which contain coordinating paper and matching page elements from great names like Simple Sets, O’Scrap, Doodlebug Design, Debbie Mumm, Mary Engelbriet, Doodle & Co., Frame-Ups and more. If I sign up as a MemoryWorks Scrapbook Consultant, what would I receive in my starter consultant kit?

What is the cost to reorder support supplies from the Consultant Kit?

As you deplete your supply of party invitations, business cards and catalogs, simply reorder your MemoryWorks supplies at cost using the Supply Order Form included in the Business Guide and Implementation Manual. (There is no need to reorder business forms, as copies can be made from the original forms included in each consultant kit.) MemoryWorks offers support supplies in bulk as a cost-savings benefit to all consultants:

Catalog Party Plan – Today more than ever, customers are looking for quick and easy solutions to their busy, chaotic schedules. MemoryWorks products are showcased in a beautiful, full-color catalog with a clean, simple and easy-to-read format full of layout ideas, tips, techniques and great product selections. You may find that conducting MemoryWorks catalog parties is the perfect fit for you and there are a variety of ways you can utilize the catalog to maximize your sales potential. You’ll find that the catalog will fast become your number one sales tool, while your customers will enjoy it as an invaluable scrapbook resource!
· Scrapbook Party Plan – Everyone loves a party and scrapbookers are no exception! Your guests will enjoy their favorite product selections from the industries leading scrapbook companies, through the convenience and comforts of home. While your guests will appreciate the opportunity to socialize with neighbors, friends and family, all while learning and testing new trends, techniques and products. The MemoryWorks scrapbook party plan was designed to be as informal as gathering together and reviewing the product catalog, to a more structured format with product demonstrations or make-and-take-its. As a consultant you have the flexibility to work with your hostess to cater the party structure to the need of your guests.

Crop Party Plan – Take your MemoryWorks parties to the next level with the crop party plan option. Conducting crop parties with your customers offers the same great benefits of the catalog and scrapbook party options, but in addition allows you to fully teach your guests about the MemoryWorks product line and demonstrate the scrapbook process one-on-one with customers. The advantage of crop parties is that your guests can bring or buy scrapbook supplies and actually work on their albums!

As a scrapbook consultant am I required to invest in inventory?

Inventory is not required to conduct a home scrapbook party. However, you may want to consider purchasing key products to demonstrate to your customers at your parties. Such items could include the personal paper trimmer; adhesive dispenser and refills; eyelets and eyelet tools; paper crimper, cropping tools and even punches. Keep in mind that the more products customers can physically touch, see and even sample, the more eager they will be to buy.

What is MemoryWorks shipping terms and policies?

All MemoryWorks product orders shipped within the Continental US will be assessed a shipping fee of $5.00 or 8% of product sales, whichever is greater.

Orders shipped to AK, HA, APO/AFO and US Territories, which require special handling through the US Postal Service, will be charged $8.00 or 10% of sales, whichever is greater.

Hostess Party Policy

Due to the recent change in MemoryWorks shipping rates, consultants will now be allowed to combine customer orders for Hostess Party Orders. Your Hostess Party Orders can now be combined in one order transaction, meaning your entire party order can be submitted as one customer order and customers can share the 8% shipping fee. Please note that the same drop-ship policy applies that only hostess parties under $100 can be dropped shipped directly to customers, however each order to be drop shipped will still be required to be submitted as an individual customer order and hostess rewards do not apply. Hostess Party Orders over $100 can be submitted as one customer order and will be shipped directly to the party hostess or consultant.

This shipping fee simply covers all shipping, packaging and handling fees associated with processing and placing your shipment. MemoryWorks will process your order in 12-36 hours from time of receipt of payment during normal business days, and 24-72 hours during the busy holiday season. Keep in mind that it will take an extra 7 -10 days to process your order if paying by check. MemoryWorks ships via UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail, so most shipments arrive within three days (however, this is not guaranteed.) In the instance that MemoryWorks does not have all of the requested selections in stock, due to back-ordered items with MemoryWorks suppliers, we will ship your backordered product selections to you as soon as they arrive in stock.

What is MemoryWorks return policy?

If your customers are not completely satisfied with their MemoryWorks product, you can return, at your cost, all unopened and unused items for an exchange or refund within 30 days of receipt. Books, punches and magazines may not be returned. Returns are accepted on a pre-authorized basis only. Due to limitations in the printing process, actual product colors and values may vary. MemoryWorks will not be held responsible for any damage or loss to your photographs or memorabilia. The tips, techniques and instructions presented in the product catalog are based on the current information available in the industry and do not replace the guidance of a preservation expert. MemoryWorks does not warrant or guarantee the archival safety of any products in the catalog. Each manufacturer is responsible for their own representation of archival safe products.

Does MemoryWorks enforce a non-compete policy?

At this time MemoryWorks does not require consultants to commit to a non-compete agreement. However, there is stipulation that consultants are not allowed to contact or conduct business directly with MemoryWorks suppliers.

Does MemoryWorks sell product directly to customers?

MemoryWorks does not sell directly to customers. However, customers are more then welcome to place their product orders through their local MemoryWorks consultant. Although customers can view the online product showcase, only consultants can use the shopping cart feature to place orders for their individual customers and personal sales. Your MemoryWorks consultant offers personalized service and will ensure efficient delivery of your products. You can locate a consultant near you by visiting the Consultant Locator (coming soon).

As a consultant, how can I be listed on the Consultant Locator?

All registered consultants can be listed on the consultant locator by paying an annual fee of only $15. Each posting lists the consultants name and contact information, ensuring that every customer can find a MemoryWorks consultant in their local area.

What is MemoryWorks “inactive status” policy?

It is MemoryWorks policy that if there is no transaction activity, whether through personal sales or party sales, whatsoever in your account within the 12-month period after registering as a consultant, you will be considered an inactive consultant and will no longer receive the benefits constituted of active consultant status – including the 20% product discount. If you have failed to generate any transactions either through personal sales or party sales during this period, but would still like to continue to be an active consultant to maintain your benefits for the following 12-month period, you will be required to pay a $20 renewal fee.

As a scrapbook consultant, who do I report to?

As an Independent Scrapbook Consultant, you are self-employed and not an employee of MemoryWorks. MemoryWorks as a whole is designed to support your marketing endeavors in creating a successful business, providing you the necessary tools. MemoryWorks is not a multi-level company with an up line to report to. As an Independent Consultant you are free to run your own business, as long as you follow the basic policies and guidelines listed in the Consultant Agreement and Business Guide.
